About Thilipan Vilaiyattu Illam
எங்களைப் பற்றி
Why This Club Exists
Tamil-speaking families across Rotherham and Sheffield share a deep cultural bond — yet opportunities to come together, celebrate that heritage, and stay active are rare. Thilipan Vilaiyattu Illam was created to change that.
Our club provides a welcoming space where families meet through organised sports days, friendly competitions, and community events. Whether it is a 25-metre dash for a five-year-old or a 200-metre sprint for a young adult, every participant finds their place here.
More than just a sports club, we are a bridge between generations — connecting parents, children, and the wider Tamil diaspora through the universal language of sport.

Children & Youth Development
At the heart of Thilipan Vilaiyattu Illam are our young people — aged 5 to 21. We believe every child deserves the chance to run, compete, and grow in a supportive environment.
Our four age-based divisions ensure that events are tailored to each stage of development. The youngest athletes enjoy fun, confidence-building activities like fruit picking and ring hurdles, while older participants take on more competitive track and field events.
Through sports, our young people learn teamwork, resilience, and the pride that comes from representing their house team. These experiences build character that lasts a lifetime.
